Information about EFT Gap Payment Exceptions Now Available

As you may be aware, from 1 July 2023, families using childcare must pay their CCS gap fee via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

The Department of Education has recently published information about the exceptions that will be available in limited circumstances. To learn more about the exceptions, click here.

In addition, Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) is pleased to announce the latest in our suite of resources, designed to keep you informed about the new EFT gap fee requirements:  an information sheet on EFT Exceptions. You can access the factsheet here.

The EFT Exceptions factsheet includes information about:

  • The exceptions that are available for family day care services or individuals
  • The application process for individual and service exceptions
  • The steps families or individuals could take if they don’t meet any of the exception criteria
  • Useful resources that services to learn more about the exceptions, changes in the gap fee payments; or support services for individuals experiencing domestic abuse.

At FDCA, we remain committed to supporting the sector in continuous improvement and the delivery of quality practice. We believe that staying informed is the first step in achieving this goal. We encourage all services and educators to read these factsheets and stay informed about the upcoming changes to the CCS gap fees.

Help Us Gain Greater Insights From Family Day Care Users

FDCA is giving a lucky family day care educator and one of their families the chance to share in $2,500 worth of prizes!

We're inviting families that have children enrolled in family day care to participate in a survey to help us understand:

  • What families love about family day care;
  • Why they chose family day care for their children; and
  • How family day care can be improved.

The survey takes less than five minutes to complete.

Families that complete the survey can go into the draw to share in a $2,500 worth of prizes.

Even better, by completing the survey, families will enter their family day care educator into the prize draw as well!

The prizes up for grabs include:

  • A major prize of two $1,000 Visa Gift Cards, one for a lucky family and one for their family day care educator.
  • A runner up prize of two $250 Visa Gift Cards, one for a family and one for their family day care educator.

Be You Webinar - Australian Research on Educator Wellbeing

When educators thrive, the whole learning community benefits.

When: Tuesday 13 June 2023 from 4pm AEST

There are close connections between early childhood educators' wellbeing and their capacity for providing high quality education and care. Recent research shows that educators' wellbeing in early learning services, both their physiological and psychological wellbeing, is compromised.

Join Dr Tamara Cumming from Macquarie University as we explore factors that contribute to educator wellbeing, and the roles educators play within a whole-of-setting approach to wellbeing.

You're invited to stay online after the 1 hour webinar has concluded to join a 30 minute conversation with our panellists to hear from other educators across Australia, sharing their wellbeing strategies and experiences.

Be You has developed the Planning for Wellbeing: mine, yours, ours resource for early learning services, school age care services, and schools to guide ways of planning, learning and acting together for wellbeing. This resource supports educators to reflect on their stressors, as well as provide information on how to engage in conversations with colleagues and support wellbeing in their learning community. Read more about how this resource can guide what we do for wellbeing as a learning community, in our relationships and for ourselves.
