2024 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards - Record Media Result!

With another successful Excellence in Family Day Care Awards campaign complete we are pleased to share with members that the 2024 edition of the Awards resulted in a record number of positive media stories!

This year we were able to secure 169 positive stories about family day care in publications all across the country, including online news, print media, radio and television. These stories reached an audience of more than 1 million people and had an advertising value of over $113,000. A sample of these stories can be viewed here.

This result demonstrates the importance of the Awards program from a strategic media engagement perspective and its ability to help raise awareness about family day care. During its history the awards have now resulted in over 1,325 positive media stories about family day care.

Griffith University - Healthy Eating and Physical Activity in Family Day Care

Griffith University is conducting research with the parents of children enrolled in family day care to gather their opinions and strategies for improving healthy eating and physical activity in this setting.

Participants will be required to take part in a 1.5 hour online focus group, with participants receiving a $50 digital Mastercard gift card.

If you have registered families that may be interested in participating, please share this information and tell them to visit https://bit.ly/familydaycareresearch.

The research aims to discuss potential strategies to create an environment within Australian family day care where every child eats healthy and gets enough exercise. This information can be used to develop interventions that can help family day care educators create a healthy nutrition and physical activity environment.
