How will FDCA engage the media?

Research shows free editorial coverage has a far greater impact on audiences than paid advertising, and local media is one of the most powerful and effective ways to raise awareness in your area.

This year we hope to generate positive media stories and publicity for the sector, but we need your help!

Each and every educator and service can contribute to boosting the image and profile of family day care and the best part is - it is simple and fun!

Registering your own National Family Day Care Week Picnic will allow FDCA to entice local media to cover National Family Day Care Week and promote the unique benefits of family day care.

You may also wish to view some of the suggested programming activities in the National Family Day Care Week Programming Guide.

In the weeks leading up to National Family Day Care Week, FDCA will liaise with family day care services, educators and local media outlets around the country with the intention of creating the maximum level of publicity for the national community event.

As part of its media relations campaign Family Day Care Australia will distribute a press release to the local media outlets for services and educators who have registered a picnic and invite them to attend and cover the National Family Day Care Week celebrations.
