Excellence in Family Day Care Awards - Submissions close this Sunday

Congratulations to all those nominated in this year’s Excellence in Family Day Care Awards.

Those who have been nominated are able to place a supporting submission, with submissions due by this Sunday 21 July 2024.

If you see your name on the list, but haven't received a nomination notification email from FDCA, please contact us at marketing@fdca.com.au.

Once submissions have been placed, nominations and submissions will be reviewed before the announcement of our Regional Educator Award winners on 24 September 2024.

This will be followed by the announcement of the Star Awards (8 October), National Finalists (15 October) for all categories, and then the presentation of the National Awards at the Excellence in Family Day Care Awards Gala Dinner on 23 November at the Parkroyal Hotel in Parramatta.

The Awards celebrate the amazing work done by Educators, Coordinators and Services and the family day care sector to deliver high quality early childhood education and care to over 75,000 children across Australia.

FDCA Online Engagement Series: Episode 11 - The Role of the Educational Leader

The FDCA Online Engagement Series will return on 25 July 2024 for Episode eleven, which will focus on the Role of the Educational Leader.

The episode will air from 12.30pm - 2.00pm (AEST), with our special guest panel examining topics such as:

  • Expectations, requirements and responsibilities of an Educational Leader
  • Educational Leadership within your service
  • Building Professional Identity as an Educational Leader
  • The Planning Cycle and Reflective Practice

Early Learning Matters Week 5 - 9 August

Organised by Early Childhood Australia (ECA), Early Learning Matters Week aims to raise awareness and understanding of the importance of early learning in shaping the development and wellbeing of children. Early Learning Matters Week seeks to highlight the significant role that early learning plays in laying the foundation for future success and to emphasise the value of quality early childhood education and care. Additionally, Early Learning Matters Week aims to bring together early childhood educators, parents, caregivers, and community leaders to celebrate and advocate for high-quality early learning, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration in promoting the well-being of children and communities. This year, the aim is to shed light on the transformative power of learning through play, a foundation of high-quality early childhood education. Through play, children explore the world around them, develop essential life skills, and build a foundation for lifelong learning.  

There are many ways to get involved in Early Learning Matters Week from hosting an event, participating in activities, or spreading the word in your community, your contributions are invaluable in raising awareness and advocating for early childhood education. National Workforce Census deadline extended

The NWC has been extended by 1 week and now closes on Sunday 21 July 2024.

The Department is reminding all CCS approved providers and services to complete the National Workforce Census (NWC). Completing the NWC is a requirement under Family Assistance Law (FAL).

If you haven’t already, please visit the Department’s website to login and complete the census. Your login code is in your invitation email from the Social Research Centre.
