Families travelling overseas for short term travel will continue to receive their eligible Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for up to 6 weeks, provided they are still paying for child care in Australia during that time.
Families can use their 42 allowable absences for short term travel overseas.
CCS payments will stop if:
If CCS payments stop while the family is overseas, they will need to submit a new claim upon their return.

This week is Harmony Week! Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
Friday 21 March, known as Harmony Day, is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD). You can show your support by wearing orange on Harmony Day.

The Australian Government Department of Education (the Department) has declared several local government areas (LGAs) in parts of New South Wales and Queensland as a Child Care Subsidy (CCS) period of emergency due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The CCS period of emergency applies from 5 March 2025 to 18 March 2025.
If services, families or educators are affected by Tropical Cyclone Alfred or another natural disaster, please visit the Department of Education website to view the most up to date list of declared LGAs and timeframes.
Providers, services, and families in affected areas can access emergency support for the specified dates. The Department will continue to monitor emergency situations and update the list as needed.

Be You equips educators to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people from birth to 18 years, providing an end-to-end approach for early learning services, primary schools, and secondary schools across Australia.
