States and Territories agree to establish National Evidence Institute

The Australian Government and all states and territories have agreed to establish a National Evidence Institute, to support evidence-based learning and teaching in primary, secondary and early childhood settings.

Establishing a National Evidence Institute was a key recommendation of David Gonski’s Review to Achieve Educational Excellence in Australian Schools, and is a commitment within the National School Reform Agreement.

The National Evidence Institute will be launched in late 2020. Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) will be meeting with the Director of the new National Evidence Institute, Dr Jenny Donovan, to share valuable contextual information and insights into the family day care sector. This will inform the initial planning work of the National Evidence Institute to ensure it delivers benefits to all educators across Australia, regardless of the sector they work in.
