The Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) 2022 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards are officially open for nominations!
Family daycare is a long-standing form of approved early childhood education and care operating under the National Quality Framework.
As the only event of its kind, the Excellence in Family Day Care Awards celebrate the sector on a national level and recognise the extraordinary achievements of family day care services, coordinators and educators each year.
It's also a chance to showcase the unique benefits of the nurturing, natural approach to education and care that family day care provides to more than 94,000 Australian children.
Andrew Paterson, the Chief Executive Officer for FDCA, said, “The Awards are an important way for Australian families and communities to say thanks to their local early childhood heroes”.
Family day care educators also make up one of the largest networks of women in small business in the country, operating out of their own homes to provide individualised care to small groups of children.
“Our members come from all walks of life, having turned their passion for quality education and care into thriving businesses,” Mr Paterson said. “They provide essential support to communities across the country, including our rural and remote regions, allowing more Australians the opportunity to earn an income and participate in our workforce”.
