Family day care educators across the country are being celebrated for excellence in early childhood education and care, in the 2022 Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) Excellence in Family Day Care Awards.
Celebrating 11 years, the Awards showcase the benefits of the nurturing, natural approach to education and care that family day care provides to more than 90,800 Australian children each year.
This event is the only national awards program of its kind for family day care educators, who make up one of the largest national networks of women in small business, turning their passion for early childhood into a rewarding career.
Educators from 69 regions across Australia have been recognised this week as Regional Educator Winners in the Excellence in Family Day Care Awards.
Family Day Care Australia Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Paterson, spoke to the incredible achievements of this year’s Award recipients.
“Our educators are the lifeblood of our sector,” said Mr Paterson. “Their dedication to children and families and their unique and nurturing approach to early years education is the reason why so many families choose family day care.”
The Awards are also a chance to promote the opportunities that the sector affords early childhood professionals.
“Family day care offers people a work from home environment that provides freedom and flexibility,” Mr Paterson said. “Educators run their own small businesses, building a rewarding and secure financial future for themselves and creating lifelong outcomes for the children they teach”.
The 69 Regional Educator Winners are now in the running to be named as a National Finalist for the 2022 Educator of the Year Award.
