Across three categories, Educator of the year, Coordinator or the year and Service of the year, a winner is recognised for having demonstrated exemplary support of children, their families, and local community.
Three category winners were announced (Educator, Coordinator and Service) after more than 5,000 nominations were placed across this year’s Awards season, an outstanding achievement foreach category and one of the largest number of nominations to date.
In its twelfth year, the Awards showcase the unique benefits of family day care, which is the natural choice of early childhood education and care for many families across Australia.
The FDCA Awards program highlights one of the largest national networks of women in small business, turning their passion for child care into a rewarding career, who are supported by an incredible network of Coordinators and Services, all working towards the goal of bettering early years education options for Australian children.
Family Day Care Australia Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Paterson, spoke to the incredible achievements of this year’s Award winners.
“This year’s winners demonstrate essential and unparalleled dedication to their roles in the early childhood education and care sector. Having been selected from over 5,000 awards nominations, it is a testament to the irreplaceable role they play, as well as the broadscale relevance of the Awards program,” said Mr Paterson.
The Awards promote the valuable contribution family day care educators, service staff and coordinators make to more than 85, 000 children across the country each day.
“This year’s Awards continue to play a key role in recognising the achievements of those working in the family day care sector on a national level and provide an opportunity to promote the unique benefits of family day care to Australian families,” said Mr Paterson.
