Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) in partnership with the Commonwealth Government is providing an exciting opportunity for individuals to access start-up funding for eligible* new family day care educators in selected regional areas through the Family Day Care Capability Trial program (“the Trial”).
Whether you’re looking for a change of career or are an early-learning professional who desires the flexibility and control that family day care offers, this is an amazing chance to kick start your new career!
The Trial will provide new family day care educators, who reside within a number of specific regional areas that have a limited supply of child care options, to support their community in the form of a new family day care business.

Trial closing dates: To be considered for start-up funding, eligible new educators must register their interest by 1 December 2026 and be approved to commence providing family day care by 29 January 2027. Funding is not guaranteed and is subject to availability, eligibility and acceptance into the Trial.
